Advances in vaginal procedures are leading more women than ever to seek enhancements to their vaginal health. While it is a subject that is getting a lot of attention, it is also a very sensitive one. It can be overwhelming to think of the options available, and difficult to figure out which cream, laser, or surgical procedure could be right for you. Capizzi MD Cosmetic Surgery and Skincare is here to discuss our most popular options, and help you choose the right procedure for your needs.
What is Vaginal Rejuvenation?
It is a term to explain a non-surgical treatment that improves vaginal health. At Capizzi MD we offer diVa Laser Vaginal Therapy which is a top-rated treatment because of its safety and effectiveness. This is a non-hormonal, non-surgical treatment ideal for concerns caused by breast cancer, hysterectomy, childbirth, or menopause. These events in life can lead to a decline in vaginal and sexual health that the body is not always able to rebound from. diVa is proven to help improve the following concerns, because every woman deserves to enjoy her fullest sexuality or to alleviate the burden of incontinence, for her.
- Dryness
- Tightness
- Cosmetic appearance
- Painful sex
- Stress incontinence: Urine leaking with or without physical movement such as running, jumping, laughing, coughing, or sneezing
diVa Laser Vaginal Therapy is administered in about 10 minutes in our office by a knowledgeable provider. We often recommend a series of two treatments spaced 6 weeks apart for the best results possible. If you are interested in learning more about the diVa treatment. What is a Labiaplasty?
If vaginal rejuvenation focuses on the inside of the vagina, a labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that improves the appearance of the labia minora (inner lips). A labiaplasty is a cosmetic procedure that can improve life significantly for patients. It can be uncomfortable to have enlarged labia minora when wearing tight clothes, or it can take a toll on self-confidence in the bedroom. Some women are born this way, and for others physical childbirth can cause those changes.
A labiaplasty usually takes about 30 minutes under local anesthesia. You do not need to be asleep for the procedure, and are able to drive yourself to and from the appointment at our in-office surgery suite. The downtime and recovery is simple, consisting of avoiding strenuous exercise for a few weeks and completing regular sitz baths to maintain cleanliness. Dr. Peter J. Capizzi is a double board-certified cosmetic surgeon who has been offering labiaplasty procedures for over 20 years to his patients.
