MicroLaser Peel FAQ

What is a MicroLaser Peel?

A Sciton MicroLaserPeel® is a laser resurfacing treatment that removes the top layers of damaged skin. It improves skin tone, texture, fine lines, and sun damage while revealing fresh, healthy, radiant skin. At Capizzi MD, all providers of this treatment are Sciton Certified.

How is a MicroLaser Peel different from other laser treatments?

Unlike deeper lasers, the MicroLaserPeel® is often called the “weekend peel” because it provides noticeable results with only 3–5 days of downtime. It treats surface-level skin concerns, making it lighter than HALO® or deeper resurfacing procedures.

How many MicroLaser Peel treatments will I need?

Typically one treatment is all that is recommended. Maintenance through less invasive laser treatments like BBL is recommended over time.

What happens during the procedure?

Your skin is cleansed and numbing is applied for a minimum 45 minutes. Numbing is then removed, your eyes are protected, and the provider positions the laser handpiece while a scanner moves the beam across the treatment area. Treatment time is typically 30–45 minutes depending on the area. This treatment is also a great add-on to a surgical procedure and done under general anesthesia.

What is recovery like, and when will I see results?

You may have redness, peeling, and mild flaking for 3–5 days. Many patients see noticeable improvement once healed in about 5-7 days, and results can last for years depending on sun exposure and skincare.
