What does HALO treat?

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sun damage and dyschromia (discoloration)
  • Scar revision
  • Pigmented lesions
  • Enlarged pores

These common skin concerns affect more than the skin on your face, so it’s only appropriate that the HALO laser treats other areas as well. Patients can receive the treatment on their face, neck, chest, arms, hands, and legs.

Who is a good candidate for HALO?

Something unique about this treatment is that it can be performed on any skin tone. Oftentimes lasers are limited to fairer skin types, but this one can be customized and used safely on olive to darker tones. The ideal candidate will have issues with pigmentation, skin damage, fine lines, acne scars, or other texture issues. Not sure if you’re a good candidate? Request a skincare consultation with one of our knowledgeable Licensed Medical Aestheticians.

How does it work?

HALO Laser being used between a man's eyes to reduce aging and wrinkles at Capizzi MD.

HALO is the world’s only Hybrid Fractional Laser that delivers a non-ablative and ablative wavelength at the same time. Combining two wavelengths addresses many levels of skin concerns in ONE efficient treatment.

  • Ablative wavelengths target and treat the skin for surface-level conditions such as textural issues and pore size. By creating small thermal injuries in your skin, the ablative wavelengths kickstart the production of new, healthy skin for visible results in a short period of time. Ablative = top layer of skin (epidermis).
  • Non-ablative wavelengths target damage existing in the deeper layers of skin, also known as the dermis. These wavelengths are adjustable to address deeper sun damage, remove dermal pigmentary issues, and stimulate new collagen production. Non-ablative = deep layer of skin (dermis).
  • Together, these wavelengths provide both short-term results and long-term benefits to a wide variety of patients.

    Aftercare

Despite treatment being customizable to each individual patient’s needs, the recovery experience and post-treatment care remains the same. Patients experience redness and swelling like a sunburn sensation, and tightness of skin. A bronzing, sandpaper-like texture begins at day 2-3 as the MENDS (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) make their way to the surface of the skin and fall off by days 4-5 (depending on depth and density of the treatment).

Our providers recommend using a gentle cleanser and moisturizer to protect and comfort the treated area. Patients can choose to do a single HALO treatment or opt for a series of treatments depending on depth, your skin health, and lifestyle needs.

    Benefits

Less downtime and faster results – Patients who have received the treatment experience an improvement referred to as “the HALO Glow.” A single treatment can produce remarkable results in as little as 5-7 days.

Customizable – Need to be back at work tomorrow? A light treatment creates smooth, vibrant skin that’s ready for makeup the next day. Want to WOW them? A deeper treatment will revitalize your skin and give it a youthful glow with only a few extra days of downtime.

Expert precision – The HALO hand piece allows providers to tune the size and position of the beam to target specific areas. Providers can also adjust the individual wavelengths for precise coverage and depth.

    • Thermal optimization – the power of each individual pulse automatically adjusts based on the temperature of the patient’s skin
    • Skin mapping and measuring software – ensures smart and precise heat delivery
    • Adjustable synergy – both the ablative and non-ablative wavelengths are tunable for precision specific to the patient
