The chemical peel process is quite simple. After a Licensed Medical Aesthetician determines it is the right treatment for your needs, you will schedule your first peel. Get ready to relax and enjoy radiant, glowing skin while experiencing world-class care from our amazing providers.

Discontinue retinol use at least three days prior to your chemical peel appointment. Prepare for an hour of relaxation in our luxurious office. Your skin will be prepped, consisting of a gentle cleanse and dermaplane. The dermaplane will remove dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. This helps the chemical peel treatment saturate the skin and provide better and more consistent results.

Afterwards, the chemical peel will be applied to your skin and you will notice a tingling sensation that persists for about two minutes. After you notice the sensation subside, your provider will apply Alastin Regenerating Skin Nectar to soothe your skin and speed the healing process. Peels produce the best results when part of a series, at this point we will help you schedule your next peel.

These peels are aggressive and often contain more powerful chemicals such as phenol to produce deep resurfacing. These are used to produce results for moderate to severe sun damage, wrinkles, and pigmentation concerns such as melasma. Depending on skin issues, we often see that laser treatments such as the MicroLaser Peel are more beneficial for patients seeking these types of results.

Recovery and Downtime

Once you leave the office after a chemical peel, you will notice only slight redness on the first day or two after the treatment. Depending on the level of chemical peel you received, you may notice slight to moderate peeling on days 3-5 after your treatment. This peeling will happen around the areas that you move the most (cheeks, chin, around the mouth). Do not pick! Continue to keep the area clean and moisturized. The peeling will resolve itself within the first week.

No strict downtime is necessary after these treatments but we do recommend that you wear a hat if spending time in the sun and continue to be vigilant about applying sunscreen.
