Replacement procedures over the years have had varying degrees of effectiveness. With NeoGraft®, we saw our opportunity to provide reliable, effective, hair restoration to our clients.

How NeoGraft® works

The NeoGraft® Automated Hair Transplantation System is a method of FUE or Follicular Unit Extraction. The device removes individual follicles from the scalp, then places these follicles in areas of the scalp where thinning has occurred.

The NeoGraft® procedure also differs in a number of ways:

  • Local anesthesia only, drive yourself to and from your procedure
  • Minimal downtime: you can be back to work in just a couple of days
  • No scarring
  • Improved follicle transplant rate
  • Highest rated hair transplant in the industry.

Downsides of traditional hair restoration

The traditional “strip method” of hair replacement is a good option for some. However, there are side effects that discourage potential patients from choosing this line of treatment.

These include:

  • Slow recovery time
  • Linear scar on the back of the head
  • Post-operative pain
  • Loss of feeling at incision site.

NeoGraft® FAQ’s

What happens during the initial consultation at Capizzi MD?

Dr. Capizzi will meet with you and do a physical examination of your scalp as well as talk about hair loss history and your expectations with hair restoration. You will be able to see the before & after photos from previous patients of Capizzi MD. The consultation is also where you will receive a quote and have the option to schedule your treatment.

How do I prepare for my NeoGraft® procedure?

Be prepared to have your hair cut short in the donor site. Cutting your hair short ahead of time will allow for a less noticeable change as the donor site heals. If you are a female, your donor site will be strategically places so your hair will naturally cover the area from view.

How long does the procedure take? What can I expect?

Depending on the number of grafts being transplanted, a NeoGraft® procedure can take between 3 and 8 hours. The procedure is split into two halves: donor harvesting and placement. The patient will lie flat for the harvesting portion while the back of the scalp is numbed and follicles are extracted. There will be a short break for both the patient and technician before placement. Then the patient will sit upright while the front of the scalp is numbed and follicles are placed.

What should I do the day of my NeoGraft® procedure?

Expect to be in the office a minimum of 4 hours depending on the number of grafts transplanted. Bring a lunch or some light snacks. Bring some earbuds and load your phone with music or podcasts to pass the time.

How is recovery from NeoGraft®?

Recovery from NeoGraft® is simple and easy, the grafts will be slightly raised for 7-10 days after the procedure while they heal. Patients can resume their normal lifestyle and going back to work as soon as 1-2 days after their procedure. The first two weeks require a patient to be very gentle with their scalp, not using force when showering and protecting the grafts from wind or sun. After that time, the grafted hair is healed and will not fall out.

If I’m a female, what can I expect from NeoGraft®?

There is no scalp incision so no need to be worried about missing a chunk of hair. Also, minimal pain and swift recovery that won’t require alteration of your current hair styles.
