First, Dr. Capizzi removes fat from one part of the body using liposuction. Then he purifies the fat to improve the result and minimize risk of complication. Finally, he expertly adds it to the chest – creating a fuller, more youthful look with no scarring. Fat grafting is a win-win as it improves the contour of stubborn areas, like the thighs or abdomen, as well as the volume of the breast area. Things to consider when thinking of fat grafting:

- How active is your lifestyle?

Silicone vs. Saline
Gummy Bear implants are the newest type of silicone breast implants on the market. This superior fifth-generation gel implant is well known for its cohesion, shape, and supple texture that mimics the natural contour and feel of the breast. “Gummy bear” silicone implants are cohesive in nature, meaning that when cut in half, the substance retains its shape like a gummy bear candy would. These implants are excellent in creating volume at the top AND bottom of the breast. They are also safer as they have lower rates of complications and ruptures!
Saline implants have a silicone shell filled with sterile saline. These implants tend to be a bit heavier and create more volume at the bottom of the breast. Increased volume at the bottom of the breast can create a more natural look, but saline implants pose greater risk of complication than their silicone friends. If a saline breast implant ruptures, the implant will deflate quickly – causing the affected breast to change in size and shape. Your body will absorb the leaking saline solution without health risks, but you will need to have the silicone shell removed.
Dr. Capizzi’s recommendation: The newest technology is in the gummy bear silicone breast implant. This type of implant, although more expensive, has a much lower rate of complication and are more durable than their saline counterparts. The brand Sientra is preferred due to the amazing bulk of research that is available on these implants, far more than any other FDA-approved implant manufacturer.
Round vs. Teardrop Implants
These terms refer to the shape of the implant. Round implants provide more cleavage and volume at the top of the breast. The most popular implants at Capizzi MD (and Dr. Capizzi’s favorite!) Are the smooth, round, high profile Sientra Gummy Bear silicone implants. This implant provides improved shape retention while mimicking the soft feel of natural breast tissue.
Shaped or teardrop implants can provide a more natural sloping breast shape. The shaped implant profile has a gentler contour above the nipple and more fullness in the lower part of the breast.
