Vaginal Rejuvenation Therapy Divi 2018 Updates

Many women suffer from several vaginal issues such as stress incontinence, dryness, painful intercourse, and loss of sensation due to childbirth, menopause, or chemotherapy.  Luckily, we have introduced diVa Vaginal Rejuvenation, a non-invasive procedure that can treat all of the above issues, into our practice.

And the best part?

Downtime is minimal and many patients can resume regular activities (working out, running errands, returning to work), right after the procedure. The treatment itself only takes 10 minutes, and you’ll be in and out of our office within 1 hour, so you can even schedule your treatment on your lunch break!

What is diVa and How Does It Work?

diVa utilizes Hybrid Fractional Laser Technology, which provides independent levels of clotting, as well as varying levels of density. This allows the provider to customize the treatment to the results the patient is seeking. The treatment wand is a single-use dilator made of strengthened quartz. The quartz tip remains stationary to expand and flatten the vaginal tissue for an unbroken treatment. As the hand piece is rotated through the treatment area, pulses are delivered through a new section of quartz to ensure laser efficiency. The single-use dilator eliminates the need to clean the hand piece, which reduces the risk of cross contamination and shortens the downtime between treatments We recommend each patient wait 4-6 weeks in between their treatments, so complete results from the previous treatment are developed.

What Does diVa Help Treat?

Stress urinary incontinence is one of the most common complaints. Far too often women avoid exercise and other activities due to the embarrassment from this occurrence.  After just one diVA treatment, patients experience much better urinary control, and with two or three total treatments, incontinence can be resolved.

Menopause and other events such as a hysterectomy, chemotherapy, or the process of breast-feeding, may lead to reduced estrogen production by the ovaries and may often lead to thinning, drying and inflammation of the vaginal walls, which can make intercourse and day to day functions uncomfortable. There have been a number of women who have seen much needed improvement in vaginal health after receiving a diVa treatment.

Childbirth stretches the vaginal canal and surrounding tissue, and the vagina can mostly be repaired by the body’s own healing response, but with many women, the tissue may not return to the same state as before childbirth. This stretching damages the vaginal walls, perineum, and surrounding tissues, which often leads to diminished vaginal health and function.

Who Performs the Procedure?

Because this can be such an intimate procedure, our Nurse Practitioner will do the diVa Vaginal Rejuvenation procedure. From the consultation, to the follow-up visits, your provider would remain the same, so a level of comfort is maintained.

This is also something that can be done during a Mommy Makeover surgery or even just as an add-on to Labiaplasty- a local anesthetic procedure done in just under an hour.

As part of our goal to meet all aspects of female needs, this treatment, which caters to vaginal health, aligns perfectly with our other services including the Wellness Program, Skincare, Injectables, and CoolSculpting®.
